PROJECT BACKGROUND
Due to demographic change in Europe, people are living longer and want to stay in their own homes as long as possible. At the moment, it poses a challenge to cover all resulting needs of an older adult with one holistic solution.
Worrying about the ability to live autonomously and to coordinate the activities of a daily life independently or at least self-determined leads to a serious burden for elderly people and their social environment. Often the consequences are a decline in physical and psychological well-being and social isolation causing increased concerns for family, neighbors, friends and formal carers.
PROJECT GOAL
The research project i-evAALution is a consortium consisting of ten project partners, which has set itself the goal of supporting older people with modern assistance technologies in their everyday life or in certain situations. The solution is: The better the individual technical assistance systems on the market communicate with each other and together offer meaningful applications for the user, the higher the benefit for everyone involved gets. The aim of the project is to make existing assistance solutions accessible to the general public in a simple and prefabricated form as a complete package. For this purpose, a bundle of solutions with various applications was developed, the effects on the quality of life must now be measured using a scientific study.
In addition to the effects on the quality of life, the project also hopes to gain new insights into the design, user acceptance, socio-economic feasibility, willingness to pay and the business model for the AAL bundle.
